I wrote a short article about an old idea that still feels unresolved: why the web never really got a simple, native way to send small payments.
We have likes, subscriptions, ads, paywalls and donations, but not a normal โpay a few centsโ button built into everyday browsing.
The article connects that old web problem with crypto payments and micropayments, without treating crypto as a magic solution. More of a beginner-friendly explanation and discussion starter than an investment post.
Curious what people here think: did micropayments fail because of technology, user behavior, platform control, or just bad timing?
